The trainings held in Jermuk and Yerevan brought together 42 young people, journalists, activists, and residents of affected communities from 8 regions of Armenia and Yerevan, forming a community of graduates who will take their knowledge and inspiration back to their communities to defend nature and eco-rights.
🎓 Participants became familiar with:
⚖️ The principles of environmental law and the fundamental right to live in a healthy environment,
🛠️ Legal tools for environmental and public participation and their practical application,
🚫 As well as SLAPP (Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation) cases and self-defense mechanisms.
🇦🇲 🇫🇷 The sessions were led by experienced lawyers and experts in environmental law and litigation from Armenia and France.
🎓 At the end of the training, participants received certificates and joined the Eco Rights School Alumni Network to continue protecting the environment and eco-rights, while strengthening cooperation and knowledge exchange.
🇦🇲 🇩🇰 The program is implemented by Green Armenia NGO and NOAH – Friends of the Earth Denmark, with the support of the Civil Society Fund (CISU), financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
